The James Gang is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2017 dedicated to pursuing opportunities for inclusion for adults living with intellectual disabilities

The organization is named for James Anderson, a member of the intellectually disabled community who lives with a NARS1 gene disorder.

Each year, the James Gang demonstrates inclusion and promotes awareness through direct participation in road races and cycling events.  The James Gang provides grants to local recreation and adult day habilitation programs to foster friendship and inclusion over a shared love of sports and recreation.

The James Gang also supports research toward a cure for the NARS1 gene disorder through The Rory Belle Foundation.

Boston Marathon 2024

We are excited to announce that Liam Cronin, James Anderson, and Derek DeAntonis will represent the James Gang in the 128th running of the Boston Marathon in April 2024.

Liam is James' cousin and has pushed him in numerous marathons and road races. Liam and James have a strong connection to each other and make an amazing duo team. With Liam's determination and James's infectious enthusiasm, we know they will crush it on the course!

Derek has been involved with The James Gang  for over 7 years. He has volunteered many hours helping organize our annual golf tournament and raising funds for our mission. Derek is an exemplary example of what it means to accept others for all their differences and embrace what they have to offer.
